I was so tired. I
could barely walk straight. As soon as I got to my
room I realized how bad I had to go to the bathroom. I threw my wallet
on the dresser and turned on all the lights. Every single one made the
room brighter by the second. I am deathly afraid of the dark. I went to
the bathroom and when I came out I didn’t notice anything wrong. At
least not until I sat on my bed. I saw my wallet sitting there next to
me. I thought for a long time on how it got there when I know I set it
on the dresser, but I dismissed the thought as though it was nothing.
That’s when I noticed the lights by my chair and desk. I started to get a
little frightened. Then I got the idea maybe the bulbs went out,
but what about the wallet? What if I had put it on the bed? I could have
sworn I set it on the dresser. Then out of nowhere I heard a
whistling of the wind. I peeked over at the window and saw that it had
flown open. As I went to close it I saw that there was no wind. How
had it opened then? What was the whistling sound? Was I going crazy? I
closed the window and locked it. When I turned around I noticed one of
the other lights was out. I thought are all the lights going out?
I decided to call the front desk and let them know I needed some new
light bulbs. I got to the phone and by the time I dialed it and put it
to my ear I heard a knock on my door. I set the phone down and at the
same time I’m wondering who the heck is here? I got to the door
and when I opened it no one was there. I peek out into the hall.
“Hello?” “Anybody here?” “Hello?” I walk out into the hall to see if
anyone was there. I shrugged my shoulders and went back into the room.
As I shut the door another light goes out. There was only one left now. I
was really starting to get spooked. I needed to get new light bulbs
NOW. I picked up the phone and dialed the number again. I put the phone
to my ear and not a sound came out. I looked at the cord and it was cut
right in the middle. I had just called a cab this morning so I knew it
worked. Who could have done it? I sat on the bed and ended up
in deep thought. I didn’t even notice the window opening again or the
door this time. At least not until I felt a cold chill run up my back.
As I turned cautiously towards the window and then towards the door I
heard something coming from the bathroom. I slowly but surely advanced
to the bathroom door. It was cracked barely. I thought I closed it all
the way. Wait, I know I did because I hate the bathroom open. As I slid
into the bathroom I noticed something red on the floor. When I got in
the room more I noticed the red stuff was blood. I screamed a blood
curdling scream. It was horrific. Thinking it couldn’t get worse, it
did. I gazed over towards the bathtub and saw the worse thing of my
life. Lying in the tub was a body. A decaying, rotting body. I wanted to
puke. When I stepped closer to see how it had died it jumped up and
grabbed me by the throat. I screamed and tried to struggle away but its
grip got tighter on my throat. I was starting to get dizzy from not
breathing when it suddenly let me go. I dropped to the ground crying and
holding my neck. Then out of the corner of my eye I noticed the “dead”
person was snickering and then cackling. I stood up and slapped him and
when I did a mask fell off his face. Under the mask was my brother. I
screamed and yelled at him out for an hour straight. Then when I lost my
voice I dropped on the bed and fell asleep.
